Mission

The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta (DSAA) enhances the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families through support, education, advocacy and awareness.

DSAA is governed by a Board of Directors made up of officers and program directors.  Officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are elected by the general membership at the annual meeting held in December each year.  Program Directors are appointed by the Officers and oversee major activities (Education, Support, Advocacy, Awareness, and Fundraising).  In addition, the Emory Down Syndrome Clinic, the Adult Down Syndrome Clinic and the Associacion Hispana de Sindrome de Down de Atlanta (AHSDA) Directors or his/her designee and the DSAA Executive Director serve as non-voting ex officio members of the Board.  The Board meets at least six times a year (every other month).

DSAA is a non-profit corporation licensed in the State of Georgia and operates under written Bylaws.
