Bregman Educational Conference and Dance

The 2008 Bregman Educational Conference and Dance will be held March 8-9, 2008.

The 2007 Bregman Dance and Education Conference occurred at Georgia Perimeter College in Dunwoody on March 10 – 11. The jammin’ sounds of DJ Play it Again Sammy were a big hit with all who attended.

This year, the 14th Annual Conference theme was "Can You Relate?" Participants listened, learned and joined in the sessions, which explored various types of relationships. The 2007 Bregman Conference promised to be the best one yet, and indeed it was!

Every year in March, DSAA sponsors a dance in conjunction with the Bregman Educational Series. Co-sponsored by Jewish Family & Career Services, The Larry Bregman, M.D. Educational Series offers adults with developmental disabilities, their families and their caregivers the opportunity to learn about topics that might not be addressed in other venues. This symposium provides opportunities for participants to socialize with others who share their interests and needs in a unique conference atmosphere.

Last year’s (2006) theme, No Obstacles! was a fitting legacy to the beloved Atlanta pediatrician, who wanted children with disabilities and their families to focus on their many abilities and on living life to its fullest. The fun began Saturday night with a dance sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta, featuring live music from international television star and musician, Chris Burke and his band.
