Fundraising

The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta (DSAA) is funded through member dues, donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, memorial donations, and proceeds from several fundraising events.  The biggest source of revenue is the annual Buddy Walk.  DSAA has sponsored a Golf Tournament -- the last one was in August 2008.  There are plans to hold another Golf Tournament in the spring of 2010.   In addition, DSAA has been the recipient of proceeds from the World of Wheels auction each January.

DSAA partners with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) and holds an annual Buddy Walk fundraising event in October, which is National Down Syndrome Month.  The Buddy Walk is an opportunity for the Down syndrome community to come together for a morning or afternoon of fun and games, to take a "walk" together, and to raise funds for the organization.  For the past few years the DSAA Buddy Walk has been held at the Duluth Town Square.  The 2009 DSAA Buddy Walk was Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 1:00 - 5:00 at the Duluth Town Square.
