Social Events

The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta holds several purely social events each year:  the Bregman Dance, which is held in conjunction with an annual conference for self-advocates each spring; the Spring Social; and the Holiday Party.  The Bregman Dance attracts over 200 young adults with disabilities each year.  DSAA provides the DJ, refreshments, and chaperones.  The Spring Social is a family event.  Recent Spring Socials have been held at Stone Mountain Park, Lake Lanier Islands, and Zoo Atlanta. The Holiday Party is also a family event, with Santa, crafts, and food.  The annual business meeting is held at the Holiday Party.  Starting with the academic year 2009-2010, DSAA is co-sponsoring with Agnes Scott College a Best Buddies program linking college students with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
