World Down Syndrome Day

Started by Down Syndrome International in 2006,
World Down Syndrome Day is recognized for the first time
this year (2012) by the United Nations

Honor a loved one with Down syndrome on 3/21 by

  • Making a donation in his/her name to the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta -- $321, $32.10, $3.21, or any other amount (donors at the $32.10 or higher level will receive a commemorative decal recognizing World Down Syndrome Day - see the image at right)

  • Asking friends, co-workers, family members, colleagues, neighbors, etc. to join you in making a contribution or your employer to match
    your donation

  • Liking us on Facebook (Facebook.com/DSAAtlanta), following us on Twitter, joining in the conversation and on 3/21:

    • Uploading a photo of your loved one with Down syndrome holding a poster with the words "I can ..." and complete the sentence in his or her own words
    • Uploading a video of your loved one with Down syndrome or a family member on their behalf completing the statement, "I can ..."
    • Posting an affirmation on behalf of your loved one with Down symdrome celebrating what they can do

  • Becoming a member of the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta or renewing your membership

If you make a donation of $32.10 or larger, then you will receive one of these decals.  Place this decal on your automobile, and when people ask, "What's 3/21, proudly tell them what your loved one with Down syndrome can do!"
